1. Thank you, Maestro...
I so love seeing the flowers. We're just now starting to green up here and no flowers yet, so these are much appreciated.

4. Gosh. We have already had 100 degree days
down here. But we haven't had enough rain so the natural wildflowers in the fields are scarce.

5. Ha - we had snow last night...
Not much, but enough to show a little bit this morning. My husband has just headed down your way (Houston and San Antonio) for his dad's funeral tomorrow. He wasn't looking forward much to the heat.

7. Sorry to hear about the funeral. I hope it was expected.
It shouldn't be too hot, but compared to what you have had I am sure that it will be hot to him.

2. Those are beautiful. Is that your garden?
I love that 2nd photo (if I'm counting correctly). You nailed the focus, DOF, composition.... all that photopoop stuff. You had some clouds that day or was this morning/evening? Whatever, the light you had definitely helps make the colors on your photos really pop.

3. Thanks F. Gordon
I am at work and the filter is blocking the photos from showing up so I can't answer your question yet. I will later on. I was practicing a bit with the depth of field.

6. Number 2 is my favorite!
I was really playing around with that shot. Here is another pic of the same plant with a different focal point.

But I didn't like the way it turned out. I liked the focus being the flower not the stem. The way I presented the pics in the op is not very good and the compression doesn't do them justice but that number 2 is good, thanks. And yes, that is our garden in my backyard. Actually my wife has the green thumb. I just take pictures. ;)
