So who has inspired or influenced you and your style?

My main one has to be Lee Miller. She was so incredible everytime I look at her work I feel like I should just give it up. I mean how can I top her work so what's the point? After I study her stuff for awhile I start to feel a bit more confident and thank that maybe, just maybe I can recreate the emotions that she captured.

Anyway here's her site: http://www.leemiller.co.uk/main.aspx

Brilliant stuff.

Other of my favorites are Patrick Demarchelier http://www.demarchelier.net/home.html
and http://www.peterlindbergh.com/

1. You know, I don't even know.
I've always been fond of William Wegman's weimaraner photos, but he did other things -- there's humor in all of his work, or poignance, that I rather like. I do take lots of photos of animals, so I guess he did have some influence on me -- indirectly if not directly.

I suppose the whole cadre of National Geographic photogs influenced me, over the years, though I couldn't name any single one of them to save my life. It's the immediacy of their photos, even when the photo is of something that's been in existence for millions of years, that I like so much, I think.

8. yes, Frans Lanting
...and also Eliot Porter.

There is a photographer who does a lot of birds, called Arthur Morris, who I like very much also whenever I see his work in the magazines.

I've been to some of the same places he has photographed but my photos just don't catch the personality and color of the birds they way he does.

6. Edward Steichen
I have a book of his photographs that I'd love to scan and post.

Here's a link, but unfortunately it seems there's a bit of a problem with seeing all of his work.

14. Herb Ritts is my number one....
I also love Richard Avedon, as well as a few others that eventually branched off into music video work.

A few erotic photogs whose names escape me at the moment...:)

Bunny Yeagar's classic pin-up swimsuit photos. Her style and the charm of her photos is unmistakable.
