Fun with water
Some experiments from this week:

I've got a series of them starting here: http://ideamouth.com/scavengedmarch2005/scavengedmarch2005.php?img=4

Water droplets was one category of a photo scavenger hunt I'm doing with some friends this month, it's forcing me to do some things that are outside my usual style. (The start image link is a little subject to change based on how many other images I load into that directory, but it'll get you into that page anyhow, just maybe to an image of a different category)

3. Very cool! And so creative!

How'd you do that? Digital or film?

I would have just gone with a standard droplet photo, taken many years ago of these cultured flowers found growing wild along a back, back road in a forest in Massachusetts on a drizzly day.

But then, I'm obviously not as creative a photographer as you! :hi:

4. The rules of the scavenger hunt
with my buddies is that all shots have to be new, taken after announcement of the items. The goal is to force us to take new photos, not just scroune through our archives.

I usually don't get all the items on the list, because if I can't find a good angle, I'd rather not submit it.

Anyhow, those are digital, using drops of condensed steam and the supermacro mode, and a fair amount of trial and error on the lighting and distance between the droplets and whatever I'm trying to focus in the water.

The water on those flowers is great - I bet that looks wonderful enlarged!

5. The scavenger hunt idea is great (and the use of the fork!).
The ability to see familiar things in new ways (plus interesting composition) is always captivating.

We should consider a monthly scavenger hunt here in this forum.

Great post! :hi:
