*** Topics needed for the November Photo Contest ***

Since superconnected is massively tied-up with training for her new job this week, she has asked me to run the topic-selection process for the November contest.

Therefore, I am opening this topic for suggestions, with a cut-off of Tuesday evening, or whenever we get ten suggestions, whichever comes first. I'll put up a poll no later than early Wednesday morning, to be kept open through Thursday evening. This should give everyone around two weeks (and at least two weekends) of shooting time, once the theme has been announced.

For reference, the top runners-up in last month's topic poll were:

Surrealism
Stillness
Cats vs. Dogs
Fire or Fireplaces

If we get fewer than ten suggestions, I'll fill the poll out with those topics in the order above.

1. I'm new to the Photo group.

I'm just getting into photography with my digital camera, so I'm sure my pics will be amateurish compared with the ones I've seen here.

If my vote counts, I'd like the cat vs. dog simply because I have pets.

But I like most of the other new suggestions, too.

I don't like the Black and white with one color element. That's advanced photoshop, and thus very exclusionary for people with no interest or skill or access to tht kind of program. It would be interesting for a photo challenge, but not one of the contests. imho.

9. Silhouettes

Not pure duotone silhouettes necessarily, but photos where the main subject is in very high (natural) contrast to its surroundings.

If this doesn't fit neatly into a poll choice, then here's an alternative: shadows.

Do you mean a photo of someone or something displaying an emotion, or do you mean a photo that generates an emotion?
