I've been working furiously for the last 2 months or so, trying to finish our latest project. Finally had a chance to relax this weekend, and Cindy and I had a picnic by the lake. It was also about the first time I had taken any photos in 2 months. I felt very rusty with the camera.
Town Lake here in Austin is not really a lake, it's more of a slightly widened part of the river that bisects town. Emma Long Park is an old city-owned park by the lake. It's never very crowded, and if not for a few Cub Scout troops there that day, we would have almost had the park to ourselves.
It's still warm enough here to swim, believe it or not. The water is pretty cold, but it's bearable.
(Photos taken with Nikon D70s, most wih Sigma 100-300mm f/4 lens.)
Some cute kids & dog:
Dogs having fun:
None of my "action" shots of the dogs splashing turned out very well, but I did kind of like this photo of a soggy dog:
I guess he didn't mind being photographed. Peace, dude!
The cop seemed a bit more suspicious:
But a few moments after passing by, his boat erupted in smoke. Engine troubles, I guess:
Laying on the blanket, relaxing, we noticed the jet above. Fortunately, I had the big Sigma lens on:
Kind of liked the reflections on this one:
An impromptu portrait of Cindy:
A more unguarded moment. This one makes me laugh. So cute!
One more pic before we leave:
