POLL ****** November Theme ********************
Edited on Fri Nov-03-06 03:25 PM by superconnected
You will need to click on the link below to go to the voting page.

http://www.burstinguniverse.com/november_poll.htm

Voting for the November theme will be open until Saturday at noon - For a polling limitation I will discuss after the poll closes.

Comments on the poll are appreciated. I am trying out different polls and seeing about getting them linked into DU.

Best,

Kelly

1. Oooh! I like that poll!
I'm happy to see a poll that doesn't show what's winning until after you've voted. It makes voting more exciting, imo. :hi:

2. Good!

All of the polls I examined didn't let you see the answers until after someone voted.

What I was really going for was amount of entries it allowed and how secure it is so people can't vote twice.

This poll has a flaw that I found out after posting. It has a time limit before someone can vote again. Because of that I had to switch this poll to 24 hours. I didn't see a time limit on the other voting polls so that was a surprise. I went with this over 4 other secure and more than 10 entry polls because I liked the color. Now I see it isn't really equally good and I'll choose another poll next time.

3. Ohhhh... me like
Kelly... that is fantastic. Can you handle the bandwidth for a contest? Two of my biggest gripes about the contests are; The Kerry Factor (people just jumping on the photo with the most votes) and the fact that sooooo many excellent photos get screwed out of getting into the finals just because of the particular prelim group they happen to be in.

If ALL the photos could be voted on at the same time it'd give everyone an equal opportunity to "win".

Thanks for working on this.
:hi:

4. Hi, thanks!

Is shouldn't be a bandwith problem. I'm trying to find a great that does unlimited choices, has security, and I can inline onto DU. There are tons of polls out there. I'm still testing them. Having 2 weeks before the photo contest will let me have time to find the perfect poll.

6. Excellent...
Well, I had time to vote anyway. Don't know if I'll have time to enter. Maybe things will slow down next week.

7. Same here. This election has sucked all of the
air out of the room. If I am outside I am precinct walking or putting out yard signs. I'm going to sleep for a week.

Come the spring I will be at it again with the race for governor.

It's because this one has a flaw where it lets you vote again after 24 hours. Now I'm moving to using another poll. Plus I had decided on a few other security issues. IP isn't good security because people get new ips each login to their isp so It needs to be cookie or login name, preferably login name, which will likely mean I have to write a frankenstein script to check and log du login names before allowing them to be forwarded to the poll. Not hard and it will be invisible to you guys

I just voted for Water and it didn't show up as a vote. Is that site run by Diebold?

On edit: never mind. I just read that you closed the poll.
