I live in an obscura circular box
I won't bore ya' with my little adventure Saturday. It started in the booming metropolis of Nevadaville, Colorado. Please note the road. That was the good road. And did I ever mention that I don't own a 4-Wheel Drive?

I will post one "adventure" snap I liked. I had stopped to do some recon to see if I could find where a particular road might be. I had to pee really bad at the time so just to show you that I can multi-task... piss and snap at the same time.

When I left Denver it was sunny. When I reached a certain mountain point it was foggy and snowing. I had already setup my pinhole camera before it started snowing so I just let it rip. This was about a 3 minute exposure...

Later in the day I did a "little" better job with the pinhole. This was about a 7 minute exposure. Took me forever to setup the tripod.. bracing it with rocks and such. I was going to wander downstream but the light clock was ticking and I still had not gotten JeffR a pic of a Car yet...

I wasn't going to post this because of my boo-boo. This was a two hour exposure with the pinhole camera. I finally figured out my goof so now I can work on doing more still life snaps cause' I really like the tone... the effect that the pinhole "camera" creates....

Mostly cloudy and low ambient light sucks for infrared but that didn't stop me from trying. And yea, I spent some time wandering a few mountain cemeteries. :P (another day for those pics)

Later....
:hi:

3. I've never seen that
That's very kewl. Thanks

I do have one of those bean bag type "tripods" that works well. I think it's just called "The Pod". It wasn't windy that day so I just had the pinhole attached to an old plastic tripod I've owned forever. Since the pinhole is very light.

2. Wow is right!
That IR shot is so compelling. And the pinhole still-life is really beautiful. And I wonder if Nevada has a town called Coloradoville?

This pinhole stuff is so cool. Looking forward to seeing more anytime.

4. Thanks
I really like the pinhole camera. It's fairly labor intensive, it's a hassle to store negs in the field, there's no viewfinder so you have to guess as to what will be in the frame, and exposure times are hit and miss. What's not to like?? :P

5. Well, all that does sound appealling.
Unlike the hassle and mess of digital point'n'shoot.

8. Great pictures and love the
cemetery though my fav is the Aspens. Only two aspens that I know of here in MD and they were both smuggled in from Longmont and are in my backyard. The mood the light in the cemetery sets so perfect for the subject.

Mostly cloudy and low ambient light sucks for infrared but that didn't stop me from trying. And yea, I spent some time wandering a few mountain cemeteries. :P (another day for those pics)

Now I need to you go re-shoot that cemetery in bright sunlight in IF for mood comparison.

I repeated to you what I was told by a man that shared his drop dead gorgeous IF 16 x 20 prints taken with a Nikon D70 with me. He told me not to only shoot IF in bright sunlight but to try it on overcast and even rainy days because you can get some simply divine photos then too. Then he showed his overcast and rainy day IFs. I really need to hunt Eric down and talk him into getting website. Unfortunately I haven't had time to just go out and shoot anything including IF. Now it is on my to do list.

I have cabinets up in my kitchen though and their really is a light at the end of the tunnel.:bounce::bounce: We are closing in on being finished. Damn I forgot to call the counter people today. Oh well been busy telling people to vote for O'Malley, Cardin, Franchot and some local dems today and right now that is much more important than a kitchen.

that is an awesome shot F. Gordon! How do you make these things? I saw some shots from Venice that a young lady had made with one of these cameras and they were absolutely amazing.

11. The Birches pic is the most obviously cool, but I like the mystery of
#4 the stream. All of them are amazing. And any of them could be posted in a "Whose vision (photo) is this?" contest here and be recognized as reflecting your "eye," just as a Van Gogh or Rembrandt or Picasso would be easily recognized. Wonderful work. Thank you.
