Dead flash
A couple of years ago I bought a Canon S60 and was pretty happy with it. Good quality pics, easy to handle, lots of control and it fit inside my coat pocket.

Two weeks ago in Paris I'm taking pics of food and the flash makes this funny "Crakkk" sound. I take another pic and it happens again and then the flash won't work.

The camera is great for available light stuff, but anything else: No dice. I'm pissed.

Canon wants $199 to do an upgrade as the camera is out of warranty.

I'd like to go back to a Fuji, but then I'd be looking at yet another set of memory cards.

1. Ugh! I had that happen with my Nikon 5700...
The flash just stopped working. At least Canon isn't charging you $300-plus to repair yours.

My sense is that the flash circuitry is an afterthought on smaller digital cameras, at least in terms of robustness.
