NPR (not photography related): I'm about to meet my son for the first time
I'm crossposting this from the Lounge to my special friends in the Photography Group...

Just wanted to share my happy news with everyone. I am meeting my oldest son, who was surrendered for adoption over 28 years ago, this Thanksgiving weekend! We have been emailing each other for the past few months, and when I mentioned I would be in Houston for Thanksgiving (my mom and my youngest son live there) he asked if I'd like to meet!

I can't tell you how excited, scared, shocked, overwhelmed I feel. This is one of the MOST important days in my life. One that I've waited over half my life for (I'm 45). I never thought this day would come!

Oh yes, photos will be forthcoming after the reunion!

Do I recall that there used to be an adoption group on DU that you posted in occasionally?

8. Wow, enjoy your time together
I remember meeting my father for the first time when I was 18. (I had last seen him when I was 4). I felt the same way, butterflies everywhere.

10. We both are passionate about -- photography!
That's one thing I discovered when we first started emailing each other. Quite the coincidence, huh? There are many other things we have in common -- it's kind of freaky to realize just how much genetics plays a role in shaping a person -- not only physically and emotionally, but interests in life as well.

11. That's wonderful!! You're both so very lucky that you found each other.
Stories like this give me hope that maye someday I'll find one of my birth parents or they'll want to find me. This reminds me... I need to update my new address with NYS. :)

Much luck to you both. :)
