1. Very pretty either way
we had rain overnight and now our thin snow cover is gone. Can't say I mind, either.

2. Dang, Blue -- at least you are getting snow
It's too warm here. No snow, but maybe this weekend in higher elevations. I am supposed to go skiing on 12/16 , if we don't get some snow soon, I won't be going. :(

The only positive is a shorter winter, but then that has serious consequences for next summer. The trees were already majorly stressed in July with the German heat wave. If it doesn't freeze soon, the critters (beetles)will be gnawing on all the bark, and we'll have very little snow melt for spring and summer.

Don'tcha just hate global warming??

3. We get those critters here, too
Spruce bark beetles have destroyed trees all over the state. That's part of the reason we had such huge wildfire seasons in 2004-2005. We're having kind of a roller-coaster winter here. November was the third coldest November on record and one of the driest. Now it's warmed up to around 30 and we're supposed to get snow, but I heaven't seen any yet. You just never know what you're going to get here.

4. Lack of color this time of year......

We had some Alaska type of weather for awhile. Pushing the -0- mark at night. And snow. Now it's warming up and all the snow is melting fast.

I don't mind going out in the frigid cold but it eats up your battery like a langolier and it's a mo-fo to spin dials and push buttons when you're wearing gloves.

I really like the real B&W.

Edit? I don't know what it is with me lately. Just.Can't.Type.Worth.A.Shit.
