A Gardener's 2006 Retrospective

I have been enjoying these retrospectives VERY much.

In deciding to put my own together I developed a New Years resolution for myself. Set the !#@$^&**( time/date thing in the camera every time the batteries go. Just about all my photos think they were taken in Jan of 03- the setting the camera reverts to and the setting I seem to have left there each time I drop in new batteries as I am always in a hurry to catch some shot.

1. November and March

are awesome shots! I have a picture of day lilly as well. That was your July photo, correct? Mine is red though.

3. March photo

I think those are my two best of the year- photo wise. ( with two children being maaried this year- I have some very sentimental photos I will always treasure) But, the one from March is so beautiful. It was such a day.

I love weird looking stuff - probably why I grow carnivorous plants. :D

it was HUGE. Can you believe the colors?
I did see one that same week on another tree a few miles away. I stand by my theory that Ernesto blew some spores into town...that was a big storm here!

A few years worth on Webshots, Blue. Might make December in Alaska feel a little warmer.
The older ones taken with one of the first available- to -consumer -type digitals. I think the card held all of *8* shots at High Res. As fate woud have it- that camera took better macro pics than any I have had since. I ought to go dig it up.

5. If you had only taken the March & October shots all year & nothing else

I would still be in awe. Those two shots are really terrific, as opposed to all the other merely excellent ones.

The cherry blossoms were an utter miracle that day. I will never forget them.....
Take a minute to look at that webshots album...magical, I tell you.

And, on that Oct afternoon I went out in search of a few pretty leaves to bring indoors....the entire branch came back with me... I loved the fact that it had so many shades of color...Mostly, I have all these mighty oaks...when they turn they do so quickly and rather monochromatical-ly. This little tree is a volunteer- I have no idea what it is.


The sheer pleasure of preserving it all with a little camera...Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

9. Nice theme Jhain!

Jersey 'maters. Yummy!! South Jersey does have the most delicious veggies and fruits. We used to go over near Glassboro and pick strawberries and blueberries in season, many moons ago.

10. The blueberries this year!

were as big as quarters and DELICIOUS. I was on a You Pick farm in Belleplain and talked to a woman who told me that she ships them to her Mom every year and they arrive perfectly edible. Keep in touch, 48% and I will send you some if we have a good year again.

Here's to 2007- May it be good for blueberries and humans alike.
