Portrait within a portrait - sort of
You can barely make out me taking Cindy's picture, in her sunglasses. This is cropped way down, probably only about 15% of the original photo, but still quite detailed, I think.

1. I've alway liked this sort of shots
I saw one on another forum where the photographer took a picture of an image of himself in a Christmas ornament.

2. There's a guy on Flickr
who loves geckos. Takes thousands of pictures of geckos. Beautiful, colorful gecko photos. His dream is to be able to get close enough to one so he can see himself reflected in the gecko's eye. This is as close as he's gotten, so far.

4. This was taken from about 30 feet away and
cropped some. You see what this woman sees.

5. Hey Priller, that is a nice shot. Is that your wife?
Very lovely.

Here is my portrait within a portrait, a shot of my girlfriend, who at the time, had no idea that I was capturing myself as well as her.

And this is a little "triptych" I did a while back. She's wearing her "grandma" shirt, but other than that I really
like these shots:

12. Lovely. Really lovely.
She also seems to like who she's looking at ... notice that? You've captured a demeanor that seems (to me) to portray a touch of modesty, a sense of humor, lots of kindness and, most important, a trust and affection for the photographer (even though she's patiently humoring you at times?).

A lot comes through the lens. (Especially when the photographer enjoys the subject.)
