Random photo from my hard drive.
Just for the hell of it I might pull a random photo to post here every few days or so. Or maybe not. I get bored and distracted pretty easy.

1. That's really nice...
Where and when was it taken? Beautiful tonality. (As others here know, my pet peeve is mediocre grayscale conversion. This came out really well.) Too bad you didn't submit it in last month's contest...I'll bet it would have picked up a lot of votes!

2. Thanks
It was taken about 7-8 years ago next to the Roanoke River in Roanoke, Va. There's a park that follows the river with a road next to it that floods everytime it rains really hard. A good flood will put the water near the top of the underpass. The photo was taken just using the street light and hand held Minolta X-700 with Ilford HP5 film and then printed on Ilford Multigrade paper.

Actually I had forgotten I even had a scan of this photo so I used the telephone cord one for the contest. That would have been a tough choice between the two anyway since they are two of my favorite photos.

6. Va Tech
Full name is Virginia Polytechnic Institute so yeah that's probably the one. It's not actually in Roanoke though about 30-40 minutes southwest of here in Blacksburg.
