I don't think I'll be able to swing a Xsi right now because of the costs of the lenses, mostly, so I'm wondering about the G10, which would give me the manual controls I don't have enough of on my 850 point & shoot. Any thoughts if this is a good idea? I don't want to go with something that will have me kicking myself for wasting money, but it does fit in a purse, which would have me toting it along more than a Rebel.

2. I think my question is more strategic. |

Am I going to be happy with the upgrade this would give me or am I still going to be wishing I had the Xsi? (I realize you don't have a happiness meter on hand just for me; just wondering generally).

6. Part of my consideration is the weight... |
|
and I find everything above the Rebel series to be too heavy and a bit large for my hands.
