We have a beautiful 3 year old boxer in our neighborhood who only has one eye, his name is Petey. The owner said the dog got an infection as a puppy and they tried everything to save the eye, but in the end, it had to be removed, they were heartbroken.
Petey is really friendly, unless my husband tries to pet him after he's touched our cats, then the dog goes nuts. He is torn between wanting to get love from Mr. 48, and the scent of felines (yuck!). It's actually pretty funny to watch, one time he got up on his hind legs and pushed Mr. 48 so hard that he almost fell backwards on his ass. This dog is quite strong.
The lack of an eye doesn't seem to compromise their personalities in any way. :hi:

2. I agree, it kind of adds to their personality, really. |

Jax reminds me of a pirate. I always expect him to go "aarrgh" instead of "arf."
