1. I remember that first one.
It's a gem.

So is the second.

2. Thanks Jeff...the first is one of my favorites...
I still can't seem to get the time to drive up to Fort Ross (or anywhere else, except school, for that matter).

I desperately need to get away for some downtime and photography...maybe in a month or so.

In the meantime, I'm pretty much searching through the files for stuff I haven't posted before.

I did manage to pull this one out of a really underexposed (almost black) file shot, which I also used for my "Red" entry:

You still extra busy these days? :hi:

3. That's a lovely shot. I hope to see it do very well in the contest.
Busy as all get out here, but I've actually had four consecutive days off. Recently, I've been lucky to get one at a time, so this has been a treat.

4. I doubt it will do very well. the red is too tightly focused...
and there is some strong, strong competition. :D

Really glad to hear of your time off...it's good for the soul, and health in general.

5. Yes, it is. I wish I had started freelancing 10 years ago.
Some of the time, the 0-60 in 6.4 seconds cyclical nature of it feels like something a younger me would have taken in stride. At the same time, finally doing what you wanted to do and knew you were up to doing well is pretty fine, even when it gets really intense.

And as to your photo, the red serves like a faint oboe line against banked violas, cellos and basses, plaintive and questing over dark and shifting triads. Music was the first thing that came to mind with it. "Music" would have been a good title for it.

There's no finer interpretation of the theme than that one. Probably too subtle for some voters, but very, very special and my choice for the winner, against some really great competing entries.

6. You are too kind...
but I will admit, I like the shot. I am thinking of getting a camera with a higher resolution, 'cause I would like to print some, and keep a good level of crispness/quality.

Goodnight, Jeff...I am off to put my ice-cold feet against Kim's warm, and soundly sleeping, legs...should I survive the experience I will be back tomorrow. :D

:hi:
