2. Canon 5D
its likely to become my day to day carry around camera.

Much as a I love the 1D Mark II - its a bit a handful to drag along everywhere ya go.

I am assuming its the old 5D?

That camera has an uncanny knack for producing pictures that are razor sharp - but still soft somehow..

Have you noticed that you are in the picture 6 times or so? :)

6. I just bought a 5D version 1
they are currently selling for $1,100 and $1,300, a great buy for a full frame 12 MP SLR. It complements my 50D well, using the 50D for action, sports and wildlife and the 5D for portraits, landscapes and wide angle. The 5D is one of the truly great DSLRs.

7. You use your cameras exactly as I use mine. :-)
You know what I really like about the 50D? The way you can see all your settings on the view screen. That's so nice for my old eyes, and great to have everything laid out there in one spot without pushing a bunch of buttons and twisting knobs.

8. I agree,
I shoot manual all of the time. I have had my 50D since January and just bought the 5D. I thought the 5D was broken when I got it because the button on the back didn't bring up that menu. It wasn't until I read the manual and asked around that I found it doesn't have that menu... I love the high resolution LCD on the 50D too, it is great to pixel peep being able to magnify the image and actually tell if the image is sharp in camera.
