1. Now this is my kind of thread!
Love the last action shot of the great egret. You found one in breeding plumage too. The ruby throated hummingbird has detail galore! I am guessing your gull is an immature ring billed gull but I am not sure. I'm not a guller. ;) Nice flight shots with strong eye contact in the first!

2. Am I ever glad I don't have to chose just one. but if I did it would be the last one.
Extracting lunch from liquid gold.
The fourth one is my next favorite, I keep coming back to the incongruity of the soft feathers, curving like alive at the bottom, and the harsh looking dry dead moss.
Each one a masterpiece.

3. Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa -pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-pa -pa-ooma-mow-mow
Love your "dazed and confused" shot, beautiful colors.. The rest are far from shabby too.

ISTR reading that some of the more brightly colored, metallic looking birds achieve their coloration through interference effects similar to the rainbow you get from catching a CD at the right angle, that little hummer sure does have a metallic sheen to him.
