Golden Sunrise on the Pond.. An Autostitch Production..
This is a montage of 15 images collated with Autostitch, it is a smallish pond a couple of miles from my home. I dropped by this morning after taking the kids to school and took about a hundred shots total, this set turned out the best..

If you look closely the crescent moon is just visible near the upper center of the panorama and there is a slight layer of mist over the water.

1. Oh Man, this is, like, an adventure ! What fun. I play with this and can stop and
frame it out anyway I like and each time I have a fabulous thing to look at. It's as if I were there. The light rising is wonderful, in the water as well. You are having fun with the stitching, and I read what you said on the post with the SUPER camera, and almost understand what you are accomplishing here. Very very cool !

4. -Blush- Thank you Mira..
I appreciate your kind remarks..

I spotted this pond a month or so ago while I was riding with my son in law and have been meaning to go back and shoot it at an opportune moment.. This morning just happened to work out right for me and I managed to get there a little while after sunrise.

It may be spoiling the image for some, but there is a quite busy two lane highway immediately behind where I shot the image from, cars were whizzing by only a few feet from this utterly tranquil scene.

Doing more with less is kind of a mantra for me, I've never been about going out and buying the most expensive equipment around, I always try to finesse things to get the results I'm looking for, in my opinion you learn more that way.

2. Well done
I love the pano presentation! The slight mist and early sunrise make for a beautiful image.

5. Autostitch is free and falling off a log easy to use..
Just tell Autotstitch where the pictures are, which ones you want to use and which way they are rotated (if they are) and it does the rest automatically. I basically played with one setting to tweak this image, the gain compensation, I turned the gain sigma up from 0.1 to 0.7 in steps until I got the smoothness in the sky color I was looking for. Don't ask me how I knew to adjust that particular setting to do what I wanted, it was a wild ass guess from long experience in messing with a wide variety of software. I'm a born knob twiddler and I usually just make adjustments to see what will happen in order to get a feel for what something will do or is capable of.

Positive comments are always appreciated, thank you.
