Some of my historic register rejects
I haven't decided which photos of the gazillion I've taken I'll actually use, will probably post a poll asking y'all to help me decide on what to submit. But in the meantime, I've whittled out some I personally like but don't think they're contest material. Here are a few of those:

My alma mater, the Iliff School of Theology. Iliff Hall is on the historic register. Here's Iliff Hall, outside looking up to the second story chapel window...

...and here's the view from inside the chapel:

Here are the front door on Iliff Hall. I don't know why this shot appeals to me so, maybe it's the kind of mission styling that's missing from the rest of the building.

The boat house in Denver's historic City Park:

This shot actually has two historic register sites shown, the F Street Bridge, and that red building is the Manhatten Hotel in Salida, CO

This last shot is also of Salida, a town whose whole downtown is on the historic register. I love this funky little building, but on one side was a tacky retail store, and the other side of alley I cropped out was a bunch of dumpsters.

1. I really like that last one. Love the cropping.
Even the electrical/telephone wires work.

3. Thanks.
I normally can't stand electrical wires in shots, they are one of my biggest pet peeves about shooting architecture. But I agree they work with this shot!

2. Thanks...
Now I can't wait for your poll.

What a lovely place to go to school.

I bet I have a few pics of historic courthouses, etc. I'm going to look and see.

4. I went through a bunch of my backlog to see what I had by way of
possible shots in the ol' archive. I had surprisingly very little! Most of the historic sites I had were either private organizations or state historic sites. So you never know until you check the list.
