And thanks for the peonies. I'm not that familiar with them and they look really crazy. I like the bottom one. I can't figure it out! In fact, I can only figure out about three of them.
Glad you figured out how to post them!

2. Thanks, Celebration! Glad I got them to work too. These were from a bouquet that |
|
was on its last legs. The shots are of the very centers, many of the petals have fallen away, but I thought what was left was almost more interesting than the original full flowers.

You caught all the different colors and details of the flower. I love exploring the intricacies of nature. This is a terrific group, a lot of excellent photographers.

No ants? Peonies attract ants!

7. Very nice! The fifth one |
|
is my favorite. When I was growing up, it seemed like everyone in the neighborhood had peonies bushes. Beautiful and very fragrant, but don't bring them into the house or you'll have ants all over the place. ;) But I suspect you know this already.

9. Good on you - as Thom Hartman would say - keep the posts coming. I remember |
|
well making my first post, and figuring out how to do it. This is the first year I have peonies, and I noticed they started blooming while I was away. The ants were all over the buds, so I read up on that and learned it is common, they like the waxy sweetness that covers them. Peonies need to be submerged head down in water for at least 5 min before being brought in the house. I like the soft colors in your photos.

13. Thanks for all the nice comments! Totally different vibe than some of the other forums |
|
here, in a good way of course. ;) I'll keep the photos coming as often as possible, and I'm definitely looking forward to photos from all of you. I've really enjoyed looking at and voting on the monthly contests I've seen posted, so now I can get more involved.
Hope you all have a great week!
