Thank you so much for your interest and supportive words and for having my back.

This time I'm still setting a bit of the scene. You can imagine the impact of these scenes on the humans. I will show that later, when you are a little better prepared.

These are taken by the leader of the group who went to help, he is about 55 and a friend of mine.

2. Regrettably, the first word that popped into my head seeing these

was "unreal" and of course the whole point of them is that THIS IS REAL. Thanks again for posting these.

One of the most striking things is the apartment building where obviously some windows have been expanded to fill breaches from explosives, giving the whole elevation a whimsical post-modern feel. Except there's no room for whimsy. It's just a case of people trying and trying to adapt to these conditions.

These photos infuriate me for the horrors they portray, but they also inspire quietly for their illustration of stubborn resilience.

Insha'Allah, these people will receive some measure of recompense for the terrible destruction and disruption they have endured.
