Greens from the 'hood, part I (dialup warning)
Shot today within a two block radius of home. Green everywhere I looked. Tokina 100mm macro.

1. My dear JeffR!
Wow, these are wonderful!

I'm not too sure about the metalwork and the concertina wire ones, though...:scared:

Those are scary!

Still, they are impressive...

Thank you!

:hi:

6. It was an odd juxtaposition, which appealed.
Taken behind a neighborhood church, which made the sinister overtones that much more intriguing. Thanks, Peggy.

2. Very fine shots JeffR, one and all.
Strangely, I found myself most attracted to the metalwork shots (love the patina of the copper) especially the third one of the gutter with the elegantly curved barbed wire, also the shot of the peeling paint and damaged Venetian blinds!

The plant pics are all superb, but I enjoy the melancholy decay of the above mentioned photos somehow. There's just more drama there for me.

:hi:

7. Thanks, and I agree. I'm leaning to using one of those in the contest.
Though I've gone from having very little to choose from to having a dilemma about picking from these.

3. Even though I love the wire photos
They may seem a bit too turquoise to me to be green, or at least not enough darker green. With that (small) caveat, the top wire picture is my favorite, but second choice to my favorite picture in your other thread.

8. Good point.
I might have to play with the color balance a little, since the real color to the eye was nearer to sea green. Despite the lens' excellent color rendition, this was a hard color to capture faithfully.

4. You are not losing your touch, and I'm glad you are checking in bearing gifts
My runaway favorite is the middle photo with the wire and rusting roof.
It has your stamp on it.

9. Sometimes I wonder if that's not the mark of the beast.
But thank you for your kindness.

5. Love the wire shots
particularly the 3rd one. The compostion of the strong verticle copper band broken up by the thin, delicate curves of the wire stands out to me.

10. Thanks, Mz Pip
That's one I'm strongly considering.

11.  For me, the cedar is gorgeous, I can almost smell it.
Also the 2nd shot of the red coleus against the sweet potatoe vine...very nice.

I tend to look thru a gardner's eye.

12. And it's always nice to have names to go along with these things
even though I usually forget them as soon as I learn them.

Thanks!
