1. Is that mountain ash in the third picture?

We have those here, but they turn a brilliant red, one of the few red trees we have around here in the fall.

2. Could be.

I thought it might be staghorn sumac, but that too, gets red in the fall, not yellow. OTOH, a lot of the trees seem thoroughly confused this year.

The pics are great. I'm still waiting for the vallye to turn mor red. Berries are visible, and a little yellowing in the trees...but it's strange how slow it is for Fall to hit in the valley. The mountains already went through the red and are covered in snow :( I'm afraid, that they trees won't get color before the first snow flies and we'll miss everything.
