Some more what ifs
Shuttered Leaves

Left Behind at the Fulton Fish Market

Waiting to Get Hitched

These were all taken with wabi-sabi in mind. The one I decided on was taken in June.

3. You had a tough time chosing, I see.
The "Shuttered Leaves" are especially nice, and the "waiting to get hitched" photo and title are inspired.
Striking work, Cassandra.

5. Thanks.
I went by the shutter almost every day for a week before noticing it. The hitch was from a few weeks ago but the title came to me yesterday. I went with the Brooklyn Bridge shot because that was the first time I'd walked across (although I've lived here all my life) and I was surprised how intimate an experience it is. The walk is shorter than it looks and it is a very handmade-looking bridge; you feel in the presence of the men who laid the wood planks and connected the cables. I didn't need much zoom for that shot except for framing; many parts are close enough to touch.

I think of it as a cathedral to engineering. The Shuttered Leaves is my favorite.

4. Thanks for posting
I love seeing the also rans! These are great. Ivy has a way of doing that, doesn't it? LOL, I can relate to that. That wagon is wonderful. I wonder how old it is.

7. I like how the ivy creeps out just enough...
to get sun on the leaves, but no more. The wagon is maybe 30 or 40 years old(?). They use some to put little shop kiosks on; this one was left as a display since the seaport site is a themed shopping mall for the last 20 years or so.
