Remember: I complained about my fence and tree getting hit?
Then I, just now, remembered how that tree got hurt 2 years ago, and I looked to see if I still had the picture.

I always feel so sad when trees get damaged from loads of ice.
WJMS's fabulous photo of the ice tree reminded me.

Same tree got hurt this time along my fence.
I hope it's going to be OK. It is always the first in the row to get buds, and the first to drop its leaves.

1. At least it didn't crush the fence. Is that your artwork on the fence?

5. Yes, it could have been worse.
Another large limb fell a couple of months ago, a different tree, it is still sitting straight up where it landed, about 10 inches parallel to the fence. It would have crushed the fence.

No, the artwork is what I can beg for or steal off the floor at break down time at sign conventions and then I put it on backboards and hang them on the fence. I change them out every few months.
My neighbors like it.

2. Ouch!
Well, at least there is lots more of that tree even after the branch is gone.

As to the latest damage, it looked in the photo like it was mostly surface / bark damage? Hope the tree is okay, it is big and beautiful!

3. I'm sending your tree some love.
Whenever you can, just go out and pat the tree and use loving intention for it to heal. Sympathy, connection, understanding as well as love, should all be assimmilated into the cells of the tree, allowing it to heal. Before someone asks me if I have scientific proof of that, let me be the first to say, "no".

4. No scientific proof is needed. I'm on your side of how to
go about sending healing energy. Thanks for the reminder.
I'll be happy when it starts budding.

7. Ouch...poor tree.
How did you manage to get the limb taken away?
Or is the city going to help with that?

8. When you cut these limbs down to a length of 6 feet
and stack them on the curb, the city comes around and gets them. It was two years and numbers of home owner mishaps ago, I don't remember who helped me with his/her chain saw.
Still saddens me to look at it. I love my trees. I used to think: I want to get wealthy enough to own a tree......
