Frivolous Photo Thread
Edited on Sun Feb-14-10 02:49 AM by blueraven95
I had a 5 hour class today, after which I did research for a paper, and then I read a zillion pages of intellectual thought about Bonnie and Clyde...all of which is conspiring to keep me away from you guys. While I have to admit I love my studies, I miss all of you wonderful people too.

So, how is everyone? Got any fun photos to share?

2. well, fun for me
If you want an example of my usual subject, here is my grandson as I was trying to teach him the yoga posture "Salute to the Sun". This is the "Downward Dog" position, or his interpretation of it, which includes a lot of jumping on his feet. See why I felt like I needed to teach him yoga? Notice the background. My hand was not shaking for this pic. He was in the middle of his own Downward Dog interpretation.

Your grandson is adorable! I particularly like the idea of doing yoga in footie pajamas. It's fun juxtaposition.

20. hmmm
Maybe I need an appraisal. It was my mom's, and my great aunt's before that. She had a fine old house. It is pretty threadbare, as in no pile on it, but looks fine--no bald spots or anything. I like the geometric shapes of the pattern.

28. wouldn't hurt to have someone look at it - definitely caucasian . . .
I never minded a few threadbare spots - or tears - or holes. Just shows a bit of character. I have some with some crude repairs - but I would not touch them. It would ruin them in my opinion.

I can't decide which of your two shots I like better, I studied them and thought: How did HE decide?
So, how did you?

For me the original decision is always really hard, and then, usually, all of a sudden I know which one and just proceed.

36. Thanks! It's another picture from the Beijing set
I was goofing around in the 798 Art Zone

798 Art Zone, or Dashanzi Art District, is a part of Dashanzi in the Chaoyang District of Beijing that houses a thriving artist community, among 50-year old decommissioned military factory buildings of unique architectural style. It is often compared with New York's Greenwich Village or SoHo, but faces impending destruction from the forces driving Beijing's urban sprawl.

The area is often called the 798 Art District or Factory 798 although technically, Factory #798 is only one of several structures within a complex formerly known as Joint Factory 718. The buildings are located inside alleys number 2 and 4 on Jiǔxiānqiáo Lù (酒仙桥路), south of the Dàshānziqiáo flyover (大山子桥).

That one's a little blurry.

This is my favorite pic of her from when she was about 6 mos. old. She looks like a little ruffian with a striped shirt on, like from the old Bowery Boys movies or Our Gang, if that makes any sense to anyone but me. I might be the only one who sees that in this pic. LOL
