Sky things
Just playing around with the spotting scope, and a legacy Vivitar 75-300mm + legacy 2x telephoto teleconverter (Telesor MC Auto 2x) - add to that the 2x ratio of the 4/3 sensor. The butterfly and the small bird are at 1200mm equiv, the Turkey Vulture and Great Blue Heron are at approximately 3000mm. There's some CA and it could be sharper, but hey, I can live with that, considering the scope, lens and teleconverter cost me only about $100 combined :)

Yes? May I help you?

Butterfly rest break

What's that thing you're pointing at me?

1. That turkey vulture is pretty
Are they really such bright colours? Amazing. I like the heron's bad hair day too. He/she even looks slight annoyed at being caught unprepared by the "paparazzi".

2. Yes, they'e actually pretty birds - extremely graceful in flight, and very social and playful (the
black vultures are more solitary). The colors are indeed bright, though the red might be slightly exaggerated by the angle of the sun on its beak.

heheh yeah, the heron does look annoyed.

5. That's a great long-reach setup!
CA and softness, who cares? Must be a lot of fun shooting at that magnification and for such a small investment.

8. it is :) - one nice thing is that I live very near to a naval air training command
so I can get lots of practice trying to focus on rapidly moving items. I just ordered a used 400mm legacy - it will be interesting to see if the straight telephoto is generally sharper than the zoom, though I know there are a number of variables involved.
