The return of the sunsets
My favorite place to take sunset pictures in Anchorage is Point Woronzof because, one, it's so close to home, and, two, the view is magnificent. But during the winter, the sun sets far to the south behind some bushes and trees. You can still get some decent pictures, but they really lack the punch of the reflections and the light shining across the water. I love this time of year when the sun is moving northward. Everything changes. :)

1. Fantastic!!
Remind me not to vote for "sunsets" in the photo contests. ;)

I sure don't blame you for loving that light!

It's encouraging to see color returning the black and white world of our northern climes. Being on the east coast, however, I'll have to settle for sunrises.

P.S. Of course, I meant to respond to the original post.

5. Very nice.
Is that a recent shot? Is it Washington? Is that grass I see? :)

6. It is Washington
Legion Park in Everett to be precise. About 30 days ago or so. You know WA state?

Seattle is the usual hub when we fly Outside, and sometimes we rent a car there and drive the Coast (as much as we can) down to CA. I think Washington is beautiful, and if I wasn't living in Alaska, I might consider living there. I love the Olympic Peninsula. I have some really nice shots from Port Angeles.

4. Beautiful. I used to love the pastel skies when my icebreakers would make "north trips"
to the Arctic, so even without brilliant sunsets like those you've captured, it was very pretty.
