For F. Gordon (and others into esoterica)
I was wandering aimlessly as I often do and discovered that the Wayback Machine (notable for preserving stuff on the net that later gets "revised" or eliminated) has a number of subsections devoted to freely redistributable music and audio (want a couple thousand Grateful Dead concerts or some Billy Bragg? - MosaicTV or Democracy Now! ?)) and video, including the following original Flash Gordon episodes.

(Apparently the numbering is inaccurate, so you might find a dupe in the mix.)

Anyway, thanks for Gallery invite and I'll put some stuff up eventually. For now I'm actually working longish hours (Damn! Yay!) and looking forward to a couple week's vacation at the end of the month.

1. I use them for music
Lot's of bands allow taping of their concerts. Good place to get some good concerts. Lots of old open source movies as you mentioned. There's a lot of really good stuff there. They've also got "The Power of Nightmares" in its entirety.

2. I've always wondered whether F. Gordon is named after Flash
Or is his last name in real life Gordon, and his first name begins with an "F"?

3. The "F" stand for Flash
"Flash Gordon" has several levels of signficance to me. A tribute, an indirect reference to the fucked up politics of the 40's and 50's, personal interest, my other hobby of genre art, history, and.... the sad death of this man:

It's a depressing and complex story but "Flash Gordon" essentially killed this man. Prior to 9/11 I was working on a chapter regarding how this man was killed. I had developed a phone contact with a very nice lady at the FBI throught the FOIA. I was "this close" to filling in the rest of the puzzle pieces.... then some wacked out dudes flew some planes into a few buildings.

Sam was truly an unknown soldier. Someday I hope to finish what I started back in 2001 so his story can be told.

You're now returned to your regularly scheduled photo group stuff...
:)
