Online photo storage sites
Edited on Tue Aug-30-05 11:42 AM by Lisa0825
What's the best for free storage with hotlinking? I see Photobucket seems to stop working often. So does Imagedump. Has anyone tried Picasa from Google? (edited to add: I think Picasa is just for storage, not online, but I was also curious about that)

1. I have never had any problem with Photobucket.
Well, no problems that weren't my own fault. :)

Have you tried Photobucket? I think most of the problems occur when people load many huge photos. I probably have over 50 small photos on there now, no problems at all.

2. Just tried it today.
I was just hesitant, because many times I will see someone with a red x in their sigline or post, and it turns out to be a photobucket link, so I figured they must have a lot of downtime.

3. I have a bunch on PhotoBucket, too
with no problem. I did have to delete several out a couple weeks ago, but I had really a LOT of them on there.

5. Why does it have to be a "photo" site?
That puzzles me, especially when folks WANT to embed a URL to display the photos. I don't see why "web space" isn't just fine. I guess I can understand where the "photo site" provides viewing but inhibits embedded links and copying of photos, but allows surfing so friends and family can view photos.

6. Most free web hosts don't allow hotlinking anymore.
Plus, it's convenient to be able to view pics as a slideshow, and most photo sites have that capability set up, so I wouldn't have to do it myself on a web page.
