1. She is sooooooooo adorable, my dear hippywife! |
|
I do believe that she knows she's safe at home now...
And she looks smart too.
Congratulations to all of you!

She was so good on the ride home. It's a twenty mile trip and she lay on my chest the whole way watching out the window. She's a very sweet baby.
I would have so many more if I could.

very good. I esp. like the 1st one that captures those wild eyebrows and whiskers and the tufty ears. She looks like a Maine Coon. I would love to give her a squeeze.
Edit to add: Good on you for rescuing this sweetie. How is she getting along with the other kittehs?

6. Lucy is starting to check her out more closely. |
|
But Lena wants nothing to do with her at all. She's all hissing and spitting. And she's a big old orange tabby.
I was just showing Bill pics of how big a Maine Coon can get. :wow:

8. The MC I had years ago weighed about 20 lbs. He was fully |
|
grown before I got him neutered and had a HUGE head. Your kitty probably won't ever get anywhere near that large, but I'll bet she will be much larger than her sisters.

15. One NPR essayist a number of years ago referred to a (full-grown) Coonie as... |
|
..."a cross between a cat and a bulldozer." ;-)
We had one for a few years that we adopted as an adult stray -- he wasn't quite that large, but pretty close. And we're convinced that The Great Pumpkin (who you all have seen in photos here before) is part Coonie -- he may be a shorthair, but everything from the size to the personality matches.

She is a total doll in every way possible. One of our dogs came in the house last night. She's a black lab/border collie mix and at six months old is already a large dog. That kitten just sat there with no fear whatsoever and let the dog sniff at her and even tried to get hold of the dog's rapidly wagging tail when she left her behind and walked over to my husband.
This kitten has no fear in her of anything at all. LOL
I do want to have Bill get a better pic of her face so everyone can see the coloring really well because it really is incredible how her eyes match some of the patches on her face near exactly. I'm just not good enough with the camera it appears to get that shot myself.

14. Keep trying, is my best advice. |
|
I think you caught some special shots of her here.
Thanks for the story about her pursuit of the wagging tail! Nancy's daughter brought home a rescue kitten, whose favorite pastime is to swat at Zen's tail. Zen is also part black lab & border collie (plus shepherd & husky) so his tail is a hybrid type that the cat apparently finds irresistible.

I want to scratch him (her?) between the ears.
Enjoy--I am so glad kitty selected you.
