Concert Photos (Steve Earle & Others, Bluegrass Fest)
Here are a few shots I took this weekend at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest in SF yesterday. This is a GREAT annual event for music lovers, but also for photographers; it's free, there are 5 stages, and you can easily get to the front of the stage. I watched Steve Earle from the front row, next to another photographer; both of us were just grinning ear to ear.

The rest are at http://beachdog.smugmug.com/gallery/852443

Comments welcome!

Most were shot with a Nikon f1.8 85mm (on my Nikon D70).

1. I just never think of Joan Baez as "bluegrass".
But these are great photos, RSN. I wish you were able to provide a soundtrack as well!

3. Well, that's why they call it the "Hardly Strictly Bluegrass" fest
It used to be just bluegrass, but now it's also folk and country and other stuff. Last year Steve Earle played without the Bluegrass Dukes, just him and his guitar, and he rocked the place.

Glad you liked the pictures!

4. I KNOW I'm really old when Joan Baez is referred to as "others."

5. Sorry, when Steve Earle is in the lineup...
everyone is an "other." :) Just my own little obsession.

But she was wonderful, her beautiful voice ringing out across the park...

I remember listening to Joan Baez as a very small child, sitting on my mom's lap, listening to her sing about the "Wild Bird"; for years that was my favorite song, and I made my mom play it for me before I would go to sleep.
