Road Trip!
I went to Washington from Colorado for my sister's wedding, and she hired me as her photographer...for free. So I stopped along side the road a few times when I had to pee, or pop my knee. So in succession...

Flying -S- Ranch, US 287 Colorado.

Utah Ridge, I-80. Rest stop. Very clean urinals

Lone Tree, Utah. Same rest stop.

Devil's Slide, Utah. I-84 near Ogden.

Idaho Flag. I-84. In a high wind desert area. Nothing but Juniper bushes and this rest stop with $1.50 for a can of Coke vending machines. No civilization for 80 miles.

Moon Morning. On the summit of Dead Man's Pass, Oregon. I-84. Mid-morning and cold. This is right next to a private indian reservation, the Umatillas.

Umatilla Valley, Oregon. Dead Man's Pass Rd. I got some sticky weeds in my socks.

Irony. Washington/Oregon border. This is the eastern side of the state, the side that doesn't get 9 months of rain a year. I took this last year, but it fits, since I passed it last month...so there!:P

Finally, back in Boulder, at their marketplace, a day after I got back home. The fiddler.

4. Thanks. Here's a few more.

The eastern view of the same ridge. Dammit! PhotoBucket didn't take it!:grr: Second try.

Full frontal (which is a term that F Gordon will get used to;) ) of Devils Slide. This is a completely natural phenomenon. It's so perfect looking that it looks man-made though. Strange.

Rounding the bend someplace in Utah, I came across this...I call it Utah Colors. Never drove here in September. Pleasantly suprised. Beautiful state. Too bad Orin Hatch is fom here.

One more from Oregon. Border Horizon. This is the border to the Umatilla Nation.

More awesome landscape shots and a fandomondo fiddler shot thrown in just to really bum me out. :eyes:

I know!!

I'll start doing porn. You don't have to be technically correct and no kudos for composition. Just have to try to keep the shot in focus. ;-)

Excellent photos td.

Oh.... where the hell is your "strength" entry. Or am I not seeing it. Late... must sleep.... miles to go before I....

:hi:

Edit? I didn't Edit. Are you saying I edited?

3. I didn't enter. Isn't it too late?
I wouldn't know what to enter anyhow.

Thanks for the compliments, but you shouldn't be so critical of yourself. You should seee some of the other 70 shots I took just to get these 9.:D

You should also see some of the fuckups I made because I didn't have my flash on full during the wedding. My sister is a photographer, and I know she's disapointed. She isn't saying anything, but she should be, because the work is shit.

6. It's not too late to enter (the strength thing)
Bummer on the wedding thing. I've been "hired" to do two weddings next year. I'm free so they can't complain if the shots come out like shit... but I want to do good. I hear what you're sayin'....

They make this cheap plastic thing that fits over the flash that I want to check out. It diffuses the light... you can re-direct it and stuff. I've done some portrait stuff and the one problem I have with the built in flash is greasy faces. Try "photoshopping" a greasy shiny face.... even harder than alfredo's challenge down yonder...I'm rambling.....

You still had a nice good to bad ratio with your photos. Thanks for posting them.....

7. I got one of those. I use it all the time.
It really softens the light, and fleshtones come out great. It's sort of a small softbox, which are beautiful for protraits. It came with my SB-800. Certainly less flimsy and cumbersome than this...
