A sepia flower and future challenges.
Now that our ballot initiative to control our water supply has been stopped by a law suit by Kentucky American/RWE, I have time to get back to my camera and Photoshop. I will be looking at interesting images for you to play with and restore. I have been working on a favorite picture. I have changed it to duotone to see what it looks like. So far I have this. Parts are washed out, but I think I can fix that. If you have some sepia/duotone images you want to display, do it.

I do like the way duotone takes away the distractions of brilliant colors so you can really dig on the form.

1. I'm still working on your last challenge
Currently on try #4. I hope your new challenge will be easier... or at least easier for me.

Your flower shot really really works. Very nice!!! It takes on the appearance of something other than a flower... which to me is a very good thing. It's a work of Art.
I need to go back and look at the million flower snapshots I took and see what I can do with a few of them.

My only sepia contribution. I have a "project" of sorts. I like Old stuff...buildings, machinery, etc, etc. I've come up with 3 different "techniques" that I apply to them so they are somewhat unique. This is one of the "techniques" that includes a sepia application.

2. Thank you.
I just took that last challenge picture from my server.

Your image really look other worldly. I like that a lot. The line of the fence really directs the eye to the cabin.

On OSX Tiger they have added a sepia tone to it's basic image browser. It seems a bit cooler than the default duotone shade.

Nice shot! I love sepia prints.

I have adobe around here somewhere, but don't have it loaded. Amazing the difference processors make.

4. The girl in the swing is a very good image.
Photoshop is a terrific piece of software, but it takes years to really get good at it.

5. Nice shots, everyone
Here's my duotone contribution:

Duotone warm:

Duotone cool:

I usually tone my "black & white" photos a bit---I tend to favor a platinum-print sort of look (slightly warm, very subtle). But with this picture, I like to go a bit farther.
