not a photo that MSNBC or some photographer has the copyright on, but it's KO's likeness, and he/his agent might have to do something about whether they really wanted to or not.

reminds me of Theology class discussions on "image of God" vs. "likeness of God." We are created in God's image and likeness - and there is a distinction between the two, but I'll be damned if I can remember it now!

I'd guess that "image" is more along the lines of photograph, and "likeness" more like an artistic rendering.

I don't know enough about copyright law (except music), so I don't know if there's a loophole there or not. Is Keith's likeness a matter of copyright? (no problem with the KOEB, or the stripey tie, because they originated with us.)

Maybe it would be best to take it directly to Keith?

from him that MSNBC doesn't have its talons firmly sunk into, that would be ideal. Assuming there aren't any weird subclauses in his contract that would prevent such activity.

Geez, would it really kill them to market a Countdown mug? I honestly don't know how they make a profit on the Imus mugs, considering how many of them must crack in horror the instant you put Imus' face on the ceramic.
