2. Don't know
Everyone's been off all week like KO, in protest(?).

Alison just mentioned that there will be a story about his return to ESPN Radio with Dan. So maybe we'll get a flash.

:)

And get a load of that chest hair. Hubba, hubba. (or is that hubby-hubby?)

6. AW, DANG!!!
I didn't tape today because I was going to catch the rerun at 9:00. I'll still do it, but this sounds like a keeper for the videotape. Do you remember about how far into the show it was when they ran the clip?

7. To be honest, I think he looked like crap
without his studio makeup. Don't everyone gang up on me!

Hubby finally turned the computer over to me, so I'm very late and you're probably all gone.

Alison made a big, big boo boo -- she said Lee Iacocca was the former head of GM and the commercials are for GM, when, in fact, it's Chrysler.

21. I'm sorry, but I MUST disagree.
Even from just looking at the stills.

The man is a GOD. With or without makeup.

27. I guess my standards are higher for looks
I think he's smart, witty and a lot of fun, but he did not look handsome in that segment.

5. Oh. My. God.
The number 1 story is "Why do men have nipples?"
Someone shoot me, please.

22. No need to shoot you.
But I think the reason (aside from the scientific stuff) is "Because some of them are nice and sensitive there. And that can be a very nice thing for both them and other people to know."

26. I have no objection to the story.
But isn't that "Oddball" stuff, at best? Who on earth thought this would make the perfect #1 story???

As to your observations re: the topic.... yeah, I know. (and that's all I'm going to say about THAT.)

28. well, apparently my husband would agree with you
because when he saw they were running this as the number one story he said something along the lines of, "Is is just me, or has the news been really light this week?"

10. I saw the rebroadcast of Countdown just now....
And toward the end, they showed Keith. I almost didn't recognize him, I was surprised. He didn't look so handsome there. :-)

12. everyone looks different w/o makeup
there are only a fortunate few who look as good barefaced as they do w/makeup. unless you're katherine harris & put your makeup on with a trowel).

13. true dat
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 10:22 AM by gkhouston
the company I worked for in DC used to put on a huge Christmas party every year at a nice hotel -- formal dress required, you could get a hotel room for the night at a reduced rate, and they flew in company employees from foreign countries so they could attend the bash. My coworkers had never seen me in an evening gown with my hair done and the level of makeup you'd use with an evening gown; I wear little if any makeup to work on a daily basis.

My boss didn't recognize me.

on edit: although KO didn't really look that different to me; he just looked like Keith. Maybe I've hung out with too many singers over the years and seen them in and out of makeup and I just mentally subtract that layer.

14. And what else do you "mentally subtract?"
 it had to be asked.

Nobody else was impressed with the chest hair? :loveya:
Nobody else loved his dopey "I'm in love with baseball" smile?
I thought he was adorable.

15. um, as to the first question...
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 12:27 PM by gkhouston
Not Sayin' Nuffin.

Second question: what did you think I thought was "nice" about the open collar? The lack of a Dan Abrams tie??

Third question: yes. It does my heart good to see almost anyone that happy. I wonder if he took the subway home, or just floated here. :7

on edit: so some of us apparently saw what he looked like while others apparently saw what he was feeling. Any wonder juries have a tough time sorting out eyewitness testimony?

16. Loved the chest hair, loved the smile.
He did look a little worn down, but that's probably due to lack of sleep and just being tired. I'll bet he crammed like a fiend to be ready for that broadcast!

Mmmmmmmmmmm. Keith. (said a la Homer Simpson.)

25. And here's another vote for chest hair and baseball-lovin' smile.
Oh, and from what he blogged and said on Dan's show, we know he didn't go to Cooperstown last weekend--he was at at least one Yankees game listening to rumors about Rafael Palmeiro! So there!

17. that's happened to me too
except the reverse...my cousin saw my driver's license photo & said "who's that?" um, it's me. we actually had an argument over whether or not it WAS me in the photo! (which for a DL photo, ain't that shabby) finally she said, "oh, so THAT'S what you look like w/makeup on."

18. oh THANKS a lot, cuz.
My sister was standing behind me when I had my one of my driver's license pictures taken and told a joke at exactly the wrong moment, so I was stuck with a picture of me grinning like an idiot for the next 8 years. Like that would have been useful for ID purposes if I'd ever been pulled over!

I still like him in a box.
I still like him with a fox.
I still like him on a train.
I still like him in the rain.
I still like him here or there.
I still like him anywhere.
I really like Keith Olbermann.
I really like him, Sam I Am. :9

29. technically, since you missed seeing the segment, you don't
know how you'd react. Me, I didn't even think, "hey, he looks different without the makeup," or "hey, he's not wearing makeup," but I've spent a lot of time around people in and out of makeup and I barely see the makeup anymore, I see the person. I don't pay any more attention to that than you would to someone's shoes. If that hasn't been your experience, you might react quite differently, unless, of course, you're hopelessly infatuated. And Ruth likes to think she's got hope. :hi:
