38. Yeah, the frowny faces always make me laugh but
going go gung-ho with them last time and it turned out he was having problems, I feel too guilty.

We have to give him real credit, people. After all, if you look at the day he actually got that tumor removed, it was not on a vacation day, it was the last Friday he was on before this past one. I just watched my tape of it again, and you never would have known. He was in his usual jolly snarky mood and everything. One would never have guessed he was spitting up blood right before he went on air. Which I guess just goes to show that it's possible to read too much into what one sees on TV, and possible to not see something surprising at all.

67. I don't hang on to my tape that long, so I didn't have that Friday
by the time he'd come back. My memory of that Friday was that there wasn't anything untoward about his demeanor. I guess it isn't only actresses that can act, although Gidget needs to work on her poker face.

And speaking of poker faces, I can recall times when Musto was on and got in a great slightly off-color zinger and KO's facial expression didn't change at all; the only thing that would give him away was a creeping flush underneath the makeup. I remarked on this once, after Patsy or Miami posted the newsletter around lunchtime, noting that Musto would be on that night and was amused to see KO with an extra-heavy layer of makeup that evening -- no telltale blushes!

17. I have news....
Ahem... cough, cough...

Gavin is moving in with me.

He actually wants to marry me, but I'm a little too gun shy for that after only dating him three months - even though I pretty much know he's the right guy.

So, in an effort to prove to me how much he means it, he's moving in. My stove is old, so he, being the gourmet cook he is, is buying me... erm.. us (gotta get used to saying that) a newer, fancier one.

His plans are to pay most of the bills while I pay off my debt. Use my money to fix what needs to be fixed around here and then, when I finally let him marry me, we can sell this place and get a bigger one.

I can go along with that. LOL!

Seriously, though, he's a great guy. I just need to give it a little more time to make sure I don't make a mistake twice. No harm in that.

And - I told Ramzey that Gav was going to give him the little VCR/TV in his room at his place so Ramz could watch movies in his bedroom (I won't allow cable in there, yet) and Ramz came straight home and cleared a place on his dresser for it. :)

21. The bedroom door already HAS a lock and we've used it.
LOL!

Gav already stays here four or five of seven days, so, other than moving stuff around, putting some of both of our things in storage and bringing his clothes over, it's not going to be all that different.

Tonight he's at his house. His roommate and he are going to the landlord's to take him off the lease. His roommate's brother is moving back to Knoxville, so he's thinks his roommate will just get his brother to move in with him and Gav won't leave him hanging.

But, once he gets settled in, I probably won't blog as much for a while. I love you guys, but cuddling next to Gav on the couch while whetting my appetite with the Keefer is oh-so-much fun!! :loveya:

I am sincerely happy for you, even if I don't sound it.

At least Keith returns tomorrow night--this Amy person just said so.

I'm just so depressed about him being gone (of course now every time he's gone we will WORRY ABOUT HIM SO) and on top of that, I worked so damn hard today that I worked late, left my keys on my desk and was locked out of my apartment.

Oh well, at least I wasn't stuck listening to Keith on my XM until I got let in...*sigh*

But really, I'm glad for you. :-)

Glad you made it into your house. Ouch on forgetting the keys though.

On the frowny face pickets, works when Keith is sick too, I was frowning when I found out he had the tumor. And well I look at it as a way to show how much he is missed.

Maybe you called her Lisa cause she is another cookie cutter blond tv person? Sometimes they seem interchangeable. Besides they are saying in anther thread that she called peace protesters unpatriotic over the 4th of July.

56. But aren't the frowny face pickets being a bit mean
by not being willing to give Keith floaties when he might be sick?

As if he has any choice?

I know I'm overreacting. Now Keith's got carte blanche to run off to his baseball games any day of the week and I'll be sitting here saying "Don't get mad everybody, he might be sick." *sigh*

Anyway, re Amy...did she REALLY call peace protesters unpatriotic? If so, I know who's not getting any floaties from me, and it ain't Keef!

63. Nah not meant to be
mean and well he isn't here to collect his floaties. And as much as he did have a scare, then give us all a scare. he did say he got a clean bill of health. So going to believe him there. Course he may still be having trouble healing and of been told to keep his mouth shut for a few days. I just wish they would give us some warning when he is not going to be on. Then it wouldn't be such a shock to the eyes and ears.

On Amy because I've never seen her but according to this thread she did.

97. Keeping with the practices faithfully followed by Keith
I am feeling the need here to address this topic with a classic quote from Monty Python...just think of you or me as Dingo, everyone else as the KOEB, and Keith as our noble Galahad.

Dingo: You must spank her well, and after you are done with her, you may deal with her as you like... and then... spank me.
All: And me. And me too. And me.
Dingo: Yes. Yes, you must give us all a good spanking.
...
Dingo: And after the spanking, the oral sex.
Galahad: Well I could stay a bit longer...

His absence today doesn't appear to have been planned--it wasn't in the newsletter. Then again, it could be they had to do some scrambling today to figure out who was going to replace Keith and if they couldn't say who, they decided to skip the issue altogether.

I just worry, is all. :scared:

over the weekend. I came home shaking and I wanted to go straight for the emergency cigs I have hidden in the Victrola but I had a bunch of neighbors over at the place for a zoning meeting and by the time they'd helped me get the groceries out of the trunk (I was rear-ended, and the trunk wouldn't open at first) and gotten inside and I'd had a beer and we talked about setbacks, petitions, and facade materials for an hour and a half -- after that, I didn't need one. I really wanted one, though. My back still doesn't feel too hot.

60. The bumper and the trunk are screwed up.
At least it's driveable. More than I can say about my back, ha! :7 I'll go to the doc tomorrow, probably.

At least you can still get around (sort of). Lousy break, though. :(

better to get it checked out early on and be told it's nothing. And if you're thinking about getting some sort of prescription to help you quit, it would be a natural opportunity to ask.

57. Aw, man. Poor crispi!
Glad you're OK, though, and also glad that you have remained smoke-free. That's the spirit!

No one ever said it was going to be easy. You're just learning the difference between "want" and "need." That's a good thing.

61. i'm proud of you for that
do go get your back checked out. you may need an adjustment/massage or maybe something more. don't worry about the insurance company thinking that you're faking it....the "real" fakers are the ones who scream "whiplash" or "back pain" immediately afterwards...takes a while for the adrenaline to wear off & the owies to start. :)

84. Just saw this about
your getting rear ended. Definitely get the back checked thoroughly. Also shouldn't the rear ender's insurance supply a rental car to you? You are going to have to get yours fixed and should not be left without wheels. Just don't give them a choice. Hope you get to feeling better and having a whole car soon.

72. Right now, everything about the economy sucks.
Even those with jobs are feeling the pinch... and not just on gas prices, but on everything caused by rising gas prices. This is true for all non-profits, who rely on donations to get by. People just don't have anything extra to give.

You'll be in my thoughts and prayers. You're a winner, and any place would be lucky to see that in you - they'd snatch you up in a heartbeat. :)

48. It sure is, but when I heard there was going to be a monkey tribute
I thought "Oh boy, it's another Top Story Rerun Night." Zzzzzzz.

But damn, if it's the only way to hear Keith...

You know what else I wanted to point out? The day he got that thing removed is the same day he did the Oddball story about the beer truck that overturned...and he did the whole story in that goofy monster-truck voice. I have absolutely NO idea how or why he did it that way. All I can do is shake my head and think "You are amazing."

44. well, this sucks
big time. today was one of the worst days of my life. i had to put lizzie to sleep. the cancer that i was told she didn't have, but turns out she did, got to be too much for her this weekend. she fought like hell...the vet even noticed it & i wanted to smack her & tell her "see i wasn't kidding when i told you this cat didn't act like she was in that much pain" but i was crying too hard. in the end, it was a relief...she had been through so much in 3 short months & was down to 5.4 lbs from 13 lbs that she was last year...anyway, i was really looking forward to salvaging my day by watching keith on countdown...well, it's probably health-related for him, so i won't bitch...too much. either way, this day sucks. ::sigh::

oh, i'm going to crawford to stand in a ditch on friday & saturday...anyone want to join me? a friend is donating a tent...bring your sleeping bag...

I am so sorry. From the bottom of my heart. I just ache for you.

You know, aside from Clark's good news this has been a pretty crappy time for people, hasn't it?

I can't make it to Crawford, but a lot of people are going to be thinking of you if you go. Good for you.

I know nothing I can say or do will make it better. Know you're in my prayers, though, okay? And someday...a while from now...a little furry face will look up at you, and say "so...I'm here. I'm cute. What took you so long? When do we leave?" And you'll take that precious furball home, and you'll feel whole again.

85. well i wouldn't call her a clueless idiot
she was very concerned about lizzie & went the extra mile with her. she's even taking her up to sa to be cremated this week when she goes up there, which she doesn't have to do. i'm kind of the mind that the body is just a shell, but even if i didn't want to bury her, i didn't want her body thrown in the trash either. the only other thing i could possibly fault her on is comparing my cat & her will to fight to live w/george w.....maybe i misunderstood her, but i said simply, "that cat's too good to be compared in anyway to HIM."

strangely, i'm at peace with it. the sadness comes & goes, though, of course, but right now, i feel peaceful.

87. I was working from "the cancer I was told she didn't have
but she did". Comparing the cat to W... eeyew. I'm glad the vet is going the extra mile to have her cremated. And yes, it is something of a release to take that final step after seeing them waste down to almost nothing, although saying goodbye is painful. It's only been a few weeks since I accompanied a friend to the vet to have one of her cats euthanized and it was painful for me as well, since I'd known the cat all her life.

89. well, actually the kind she had was hard to get a read on
the doctors (i eventually got referred to a doctor in san antonio who is awesome btw...if i ever move back there i know which vet i'm using) did the tests they needed to do, but when the tumors are too hard to get a proper biopsy, the results can come back to appear to be a necrotic infection. so that's what i was initially told she had, but when i came home from my trip 2 weeks later, she still had the lump on her leg & that's when the vet knew for certain it was cancer as it should have gone away with the antibiotics.
