Say, Rev! Do you hear confessions? |
|
Because after last night's "Countdown" and watching "Tommy Lee Goes to College", I really need to do one.

3. Bless me Revvie, for I Hath Sinned... |
|
It's been a darned long time since my last confession. (The last time, I had my priest howling with laughter. That's never a good sign. True story.)
First off, I had a BUNCH of unclean thoughts when Keith said last night, he was inviting me to climb aboard his popsicle stick. I figure that alone is worth about 246 Hail Marys, and at least 17 days in Purgatory. It was worth it.
Secondly, I watched “Tommy Lee Goes to College” last night, and thought it was hilarious. I realized I actually like Tommy Lee. I would never DATE Tommy Lee, but he’d be fun to hang out with. I realize I probably should have been watching something with more redeeming value, like…say…”Nova”.
Lastly, I committed snark adultery last night, by watching “The Daily Show”, and laughing myself sick at their “reporting” on Cindy Sheehan’s campout. Is this considered cheating on Keith? If it is, that alone probably will earn me an eternal weenie roast with Osama and Saddam in Hades.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze, Rev, let me know what I can do to save my pathetic soul. I did give my cat a backrub and a tummy tickle last night, while enduring feline drool and lamb and barley breath. Does that count for anything???
Penitently Yours, the Muffster’s Mom

Post 3 snarky posts, and all is okey-dokie. :)
Personally, I liked Stephen Colbert's bit on the White House Chef. "It's gay food, Jon. Might as well shove it up your butt."

7. And ...Bless me Revvie for I have sinned..... |
|
I saw Deuce Bigelow, European Gigilo. Oh, the sacrifices of having a special needs adult child at home and he REALLY is a Deuce Bigelow fan! However, my sin, is that I rather enjoyed this flick. It also helped we saw it at a Cinema Cafe, so I had a glass of wine with my popcorn :)
OK, the enjoyable part in this "bathroom humor" romp, was a scene that included an older lady waving an American Flag and yelling "God Bless George Bush for trying to bring democracy to Iraq" (paraphrased, the wine y'know). Then she was hit in the head with a brick ! I ROFLMAO !
Not sure if I sinned for going to this movie, or laughed at an elderly lady getting thunked with a brick

9. I think it's okay to laugh at this |
|
since it was only a movie and you know it wasn't a real brick. If you laughed about a real brick hitting a real person, that would be a different story, IMHO. In any case, no time outs in the clubhouse, remember? :7

Besides, Anderson has a posse of fans on a particular website that would come after you like rabid dogs, and hunt you down. When he nearly got hit with that big ol' sign during the last hurricane, I swear, I thought half those folks were going to commit mass suicide!

Otherwise, let him be. I'm glad he's there. He might learn something, and we can use all the publicity we can get. O8)

14. Well, if snarking at a guy named Dan is considered a bad thing |
|
Keith is on his way to H-E-double-hockey-sticks ten times over by now.
Oh well, I might as well make my own confession.
First of all, I'm a Lutheran. This in and of itself is probably bad.
Second, I too have had unclean thoughts about Keith and his invitation of last night. It was only rewinding the video that saved me at all. You see, by rewinding the video, I could actually hear that he mentioned a Viking ship at the end of it. I didn't catch that during the live broadcast; I only got as far as "this is the part of the evening when I invite you to climb aboard my popsicle stick..." before I passed out cold.
Third, I too attempted to cuddle my cats as some way of balancing out my karma (am I mixing religions here? Oh, what the hell...I'm a Lutheran making a Catholic confession to a Methodist minister, might as well go all the way. Wait, did someone say "go all the way"? KLUNK). Anyway, it didn't help, because rubbing their soft bellies only made me think of...oh man, I'm quitting while I'm behind.
Fourth, I laughed FAR too hard at Keith's Rush snark tonight. Someday God is going to get me for all this schadenfreude, no?
Anyway, I feel better now. Please give me my penance. Thank you.

Watch Dan Abrams until you can find one nice thing to say about him.
As to "impure thoughts," I won't tell you where my mind went on the "love handles."

18. I can out-confess you! |
|
I was actually born a Unitarian, and converted to Catholicism after seeing the Pope in 1995. I drove my RCIA team nuts by asking such deep questions as "why does the Pope wear a beanie?", and "who's the patron saint of lousy relationships?" (I kept getting referred to St. Jude. Explains a lot, doesn't it?)
Back when Michael Moore's TV show, "TV Nation" was on, they had a gal go to confession at several Catholic churches, confessing the same sins, to see what kind of a deal she could get. I thought it was priceless, and still do!
Actually, I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one blown away by the Popsicle stick remark. I kept having flashbacks to those twin girls on the old "Gong Show" who were licking popsicles. Enough said!!! (Rev...does that earn me 26 more Hail Marys???)
P.S. Berry...the sole reason that petting your cats didn't work last night was because they didn't have bad breath and an er, um, flatulence issue. Somehow, I really don't want to believe that in a romantic clinch, KO would smell like a can of cat food. (Rev, that just earned me 46 more Hail Marys, didn't it?)

Aren't ALL the EDV's your favorites? If polygamy ever came back in style, you'd be one happy, cuddly man.
Cleansing the soul does not require showers. I find the hot-tub to be more, ah, productive in that area. And plenty of cheap red wine.
Light a candle and put it in your window, my son. :)
