Any word on if KO is on today, Friday? |
|
I haven’t received a newsletter yet, though that doesn’t indicate anything anymore. If he isn’t, I’m going to brave “Toys R Us” to get one final birthday gift for my little “niece”. (She’s having a birthday party on Sunday, and yours truly has been designated the official videographer. The fact I’ve never used a videocam in my life is pointless, natch.)
The best part: all her little “guests” are BOYS! This kid has her act together. I need to get tips from her! :)

1. I haven't gotten one either. |
|
That could mean bad news, or it could mean Carey Fox is off. Hard to tell.
If you want to go buy a gift for your niece, go. We'll fill you in if anything happens. Good luck with the video.
How old is your niece, anyway, that all her birthday party guests are boys?

2. The Three Year Old Birthday Girl! |
|
My precious little “niece” is actually my best friend’s daughter. She’s a total character. She’s got the best of both her parents…her mom’s sweetness and charm, and her late daddy’s “party animal” sense of fun and humor. She’s VERY much her own little girl, though!
As for her “male posse”…this started because some of the little boys in her daycare were bullying her. BIG MISTAKE. She fended them off by putting her hand out and yelling ‘STOP!!!” They’ve been her devoted toy boys ever since.
It’s pretty darn sad when a three year old has better luck with men than I do!!!
Part of the lure for this bash is that the "Bubble Man" is going to be there (we couldn't get The Wiggles), and she's going to have a "bouncer" (an inflatable trampoline) as well. That's where yours truly will be, videotaping every magic moment!

they call 'em moon-walks here and the kids dearly love 'em. Happy filming, and expect to have a very limp little girl on your hands by the end of the evening, although I'm sure she'll keep it up far longer than you imagined was physically possible. She probably won't sleep late tomorrow, but she'll be hell to wake on Sunday morning, if she's anything like my little one after these birthday bashes.

4. Not that hard to video |
|
Keep the camera level and keep it horizontal (yes people have turned them vertical like a regular camera thinking they could just turn the picture. ) The zoom button is an evil thing when used often. Pick a focal length and stick with it unless you want motion sick people when watching. Walk to get closer instead, that is more natural to watch. A tripod is a godsend and even better if it has wheels. You go with what is available and remember it doesn't really matter how good or bad the actual taping is as long as you have your niece in it (with a head..not cut off out of frame) In a couple years she will of changed so much that everyone will look beyond the videography and just see her.
