instead of a week at a time. The head of MSNBC (Zucker) wants everything 'spiced up' so that explains why Countdown has become an island of quality reporting in a sea of tabloid sludge. Honestly, why don't they just change their name to the Tabloid News Channel and have done with it. Scareborough is telling the authorities where they've gone wrong in the missing-at-sea newlywed investigation tonight  and NBC is frothing at the mouth because they can't show videotape of Van Der Sloot in his Aruban jail cell. If there was a coup in Washington DC these hinds would be yakking about Olivia Newton John's boyfriend and miss the whole thing! Unfortunately, nothing's going to change 'cause it's bringing their ratings up and that is the most disgusting part of this whole 'spicing up'. Apparently a lot of brain dead people can't get enough of the sludge! I would'nt blame KO if he jumped ship.

1. I actually feel kinda bad for Joe Scarborough |
|
His show started out as a political program, and is now the "Natalee Holloway Hour". He DID have a chance to jump ship and run for senator, so the money must be good.
I don't feel like I probably missed much last night. One thing in KO's defense is that it seems like half the western world's in vacation! Scarborough, Anderson Cooper, Aaron Brown...they were all gone.

2. Maybe KO figured few people would notice if he vacationed too. |
|
and I hope that is all he was doing.
As for Joe "Dead Intern" Scarborough, I don't feel sorry for him. I wonder if he's figuring he's got it pretty good because nobody will ask him any more questions about the dead intern so long as he stays on TV and out of politics. And doesn't he have SOME choice about what happens to his show? Which is, actually, not the "Natalee Holloway Hour" but the "Groom Who Disappeared Off the Cruise Ship Hour." THAT's the story he's glommed onto like a rabid dog and won't let go.
