So MSNBC's brought in Tweety and Tucker so far..
for hurricane coverage... ya think we might get Keith sometime this evening?

I may be up all night -- I have a LOT of family north of NOLA, less than 60 miles inland. None of them would leave.

1. We're praying for them all, Crispini.
Now we just have to wait and see. The waiting is the hard part.

2. tell me about it.
last night, I was praying that the storm would do a crazy Ivan and come even further west. I'd rather it landed right on top of us than go where it seems to be headed. Even Galveston would weather a 5 better than New Orleans. :scared:

3. Ain't that the truth.
NOLA's been a disaster waiting to happen for awhile.

I talked to my dad earlier and he said everyone down there thinks this is finally the big one. He thinks it's going to be completely flattened. Just wish my aunt would leave, but she won't. She's not in NOLA though, 60 miles north. I think they'll be OK.. can't say the same thing for NOLA.... :scared:

4. if she's in good shelter, she'll weather the storm
dealing with the aftermath is gonna be a party, that's for damn sure. I'm still praying the storm will hiccup a little to the east and NOLA will be spared the worst but this mofo is so big and strong to be this close to landfall. I remember how big Gilbert was; damn thing took up the whole Gulf, and it was a 5 for a while, but by the time it actually came ashore it had lost some oomph. Doesn't look like we're going to have the same luck with Katrina. They're now saying it might weaken to a 4, maybe, but with the eyewall broadening, which will just spread the devastation further. The size and clarity of the eye on the maps has been pretty frightening to me.

5. It's hella huge.
I'm sure I'm worried un-necessarily. It's just scary, I mean ALL of my family are down there. I hope my cousin's nursery makes it through. She'll probably lose a lot of stock. :(

6. This just all sounds awful.
All I can do is keep good thoughts in my heart for everyone.

As for Keith, I doubt we will see him during any of this. Maybe tonight, IF he has a show. But right now, who knows? When I'm promised nothing, I expect nothing.

Right now I'm just glad to be well away from this storm.

7. Katrina Coverage
I don’t think we’ll see KO on this. Methinks he’s either on vacation, or recovering from more procedures re: his tumor.

To be honest, I don’t really care. This type of event isn’t his strong suit, and my concern is more that everyone is okay, rather than on who’s broadcasting it. (Gotta say, though…Tucker Carlson was laughably awful last night).

Ya know what’s sad? KO’s been gone so darn much, I’m just assume he won’t be there. Not a slam on him at all…just reality.
