Hurricane Katrina - is it as bad as they thought? |
|
Since I'm at work and can only access online stuff, it's hard to tell if the devastation is as harsh as they thought it would be last night.
I hope all your loved ones are okay... :)

1. Well, New Orleans is still there. |
|
But we still don't quite know how many dead. The search and rescue operations are just now beginning.

2. Hopefully, it won't be as awful as it was first thought. |

What gets me are the local TV stations here in Washington. Of course, it's always..."what would happen if a tornado/earthquake/tsunami/terrorist bombing/etc. happened HERE??? Yeah, right, sure, ya betcha.

3. It's not as bad as they had thought, since it was down |

to a category 4 by the time it hit and it didn't hit NO dead on -- it was to the east of it. I think Biloxi got it harder, but they're not below sea level like NO. There was a lot of flooding and I heard a report of bodies seen floating -- no word yet as to whether they were from the cemeteries or newly dead people. No matter how you look at it, it was pretty terrible.
