1. New Orleans is turning into Atlantis |
|
and he's blogging about LANCE FUCKING ARMSTRONG?!
I am very, very, very disappointed in Keith right now.

2. Crispi, he probably wrote this before he knew about the |
|
levee break. I wouldn't be surprised if he wrote this days ago, intending to post it shortly before his weekly stint with Dan. His reporting last night certainly didn't show a lack of sensitivity. And he was one of the news anchors who got the point that what happened in the "no-name" towns was important, too.

9. I wrote him and bitched at him anyway. |
|
You're probably right, but I mean COME ON. We don't even know how many people are dead yet, and the situation is GETTING WORSE. Were people blogging about sports the day after 9/11? I don't FUCKING THINK SO. Thousands homeless and he's blogging about SPORTS? Excuse me, but do New Yorkers count for more than Southerners or something?

3. Yeah, the timing sucks. |
|
Maybe he wrote it last week and filed it? Or thought, I'll do this now, while people's attention is diverted?
I'd like him to blog "Where's our President?"
C'mon, Keith - you can (and should) do better.

because there will probably be another blog coming, about Katrina.

:tinfoilhat: or, perhaps Keith wrote a kick-ass blog against the Coward of crawford that got censored by the higher-ups? :tinfoilhat:

7. Cut him some slack, gang. |
|
Here's my theory.
Obviously, something is WRONG. Last night, he looked awful...tired and flat. Maybe it's stress. Maybe it's a combination of nicoteine withdrawal and post-tumor care. Maybe there's a big, fat dose of depression named Rick Kaplan.
In any event, I've made incorrect assumptions before, and I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt here. I'd rather have an irrelevant blog than none at all!

8. I didn't think he looked that bad, considering the |
|
truly depressing story he was reporting. Think about how he was when he was reporting on the tsnunami, just after Christmas. He's not just mindlessly reading words off a page. These stories get to him.

I'm still thinking good thoughts for them, and you.
They are probably somewhere, very hot and moderately miserable, but safe. I hope they haven't lost everything.

14. They weren't in New Orleans. |
|
So I hope you are right and they are OK. It's just getting to me, especially combined with the quality of the coverage we're getting from the cable network. If it weren't for WDSU I'd be freaking righ now.

it's not knowing, even when you realize they're almost certainly okay, that drives you batshit-crazy. Or crazier, in your case. ;-)

But * is using the Navy as a prop and is talking on Fox about WW II and pimping his war.
S.O.B. we need those guardsmen here now.
not to mention the 200 billion we have spent to build an Islamic theocracy.

He didn't tie in the hurrican with a certain blonde teen who used crappy judgment and is missing in Aruba, like another MSNBC reporter we know and hate.

that you'll probably get a reply from Keith.
Crispi, you're in my prayers. We're still waiting to hear more from Merh, too. As I posted in another thread, even Brett Favre can't get through to his family. This thing is literally affecting everyone... and it's the waiting that's the hardest part.
Love ya.

Try not to be too hard on Keith. I think he had something to say and wanted to get it out of the way so he could move on to other things.
Also, keep in mind that the man has been known to blog twice in one day in the past. It's not always weeks between blogs. Keith blogs when he sees fit. I have a feeling he's going to see fit. He wouldn't have a world of compassion for the tsunami victims and none for people in his own country. He's not like that; I think we know that much.
In the meantime, I hope you get contact with someone, and soon. This is terrible.

21. See? I knew Keith would come through. |
|
Heck, if I'd checked his site again before posting, I would have seen it.
But this is what he does. I think this morning, he just did not know yet what was happening. A lot of us didn't. I had no idea of the vastness of it all until I came home from work and saw it on TV. That really says it all. A lot of us went off today away from our media contacts (regular ones, anyway) thinking that things could have been a whole lot worse. We didn't know they were ABOUT to get worse.
