1. Yippee. NOT.
For some reason I find this really hard to get excited about. Who the hell cares? They still haven't counted the dead yet, and they're airing a concert on tee vee. FUCK THAT.

Oh, and MSNBC? I am SO disenchanted with you right now. I can't BELIEVE you continue to go to the re-air at midnight instead of airing live TV. For fuck's sake, you could pick up a feed from one of the NOLA local stations or something. Instead, NO, you give us three-hour-old news. At least CNN keeps going live. Call yourself a cable news channel?

2. As long as they keep re-broadcasting in times of crisis,
MSNBC will continue to be a second-rate organization. Sadly, I find myself turning more and more to CNN - at least during the day.

God, I miss Peter Jennings!!!

3. I hate to piss on what is meant to be a good cause
but it's just too bad that it has to make for yet another Keithless Friday.

Yeah, I'm being selfish. I anticipate a Keithless Monday anyway, so the thought of a Keithless Friday is even more depressing. I just hope he's on with Dan anyway, at least.

4. I think the performers are trying to find something to do with
their own pent-up feelings about the situation but you're right, it feels like a shallow response this close to the event, when they're still rescuing the living and haven't even begun counting the dead in some places.

As to whether it's a Keithless day or not, I care and I don't care. I deeply appreciate his sensible and sensitive coverage, but this disaster situation is such a cluster-fuck that it's hard to get upset over the prospect of missing my Keith fix.
