Mary Mapes, who took the fall behind all that Swiftboat document crap, earned a Peabody for CBS with a story she produced about the abuses at Abu Ghraib.
Talk about a short-sighted network!-- no wonder they're always last, firing their best talent to appease the rightwing gods.
And one more thing: guess which "dishonored" veteran of television news ANCHORED that prize-winning Abu Ghraib story? (But Rather was getting old and his skills were becoming feeble ... so much more feeble than, say, "The Lord is my Shepard" Smith's journalistic skills -- right?)

But she says the Peabody provides some career context for the later thing, and some vindication, and she's right.
