. . . I wasn't familiar with the histories of these players because I haven't followed team sports at all.
I can see how this story could be considered tragic in the Shakespearian or Greek sense, with the beauty and skill of the sport imparting a sort of nobility to the two men which ultimately is ruined by their tragic flaw of (as Keith describes) their inability to put other people's expectations in perspective, with the result that the pressure becomes unmanageable and leads them into all manner of dysfunctional coping strategies.
The idea was clever and the theme fairly well executed, IMO.
I also enjoyed seeing what all the different reporters look and sound like.
Berry, there was a plan forming up a couple days ago for someone to tape the show and mail it around, but I don't know who's handling the details (maybe they'll jump on this thread and tell us). Also, Quanlin, of Olbermann.org, says she has a copy of the tape and will at some future date post a representative clip on that site, under audio and video.

7. Actually, deep in the heart of Texas |
|
the program was only an hour long. Maybe they thought our widdle brains could hold only so much Shakespeare?
Crispini, you "meh'ed" first about not having ESPN Classic, so you get first dibs on the tape. PM a snailmail address if you're still interested.
