In my newspaper this morning: |
|
Not a peep about how we have now lost 2400 GI's in Iraq. Not a thing about Stephen Colbert's grilling of the commander in thief last night, but they did include a picture of Bush with his impersonator, implying what a regular court jester he is. And to top it all off, only a brief article about how anywhere from 300,000 to 500,000 people marched in NY yesterday against this illegal and insane war.
Journalism in dead in America folks. Dead and gone. We're it. We and the rest of the internet and all the great satirists like Colbert are the only hope for democracy left. The corporate media is now officially finished.

1. Not covering Colbert isn't an indication that journalism is dead in . . . |
|
. . .America. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2598943The press is a disappointment but not covering what a comedian said at a Black Tie dinner is not an example of their bad work.

2. Get that 300,000-500,000 to STOP buying products .... |
|
... that are advertised in these media outlets that refuse to report the news and I suspect you will see a different dynamic develop quickly.

The journalism has gone down the memory hole, but the Corporate Media is just continuing their propaganda as dictated by this evil B* administration. There is a consolidating of the media happening now, and they are creating monopolies. With a smaller number of corporate owner's(who are republicans), who control the Media. Check out the news on the purchase of the newspapers this last week, it's happening right under our noses/eyes and no one will be able to stop them. The 4th estate has been rendered useless for the people of the US, the internet is the last best hope of getting any information that's not tainted by the corporate masters or this evil B* administration.

Cost of war is exploding Takes up the left side of top half of front page. The right side of top half has a pic of family members at memorial for soldier with small headline reading Salute to a soldier.
