8. Funny stuff!
This time they are pointing the finger before we've had a chance to figure out how and what they did wrong!

2. radical leftists don't control a thing
They own it all and they know it, but I guess it makes for useful propaganda once in awhile.

4. Would that they were. They'd do a HELL of a lot better job than the
Bush administration -- on this and on any other topic or issue as well.

Lou Dobbs is a smart guy but a lot of the time he's an arrogant fussbudget.

9. Lou is like a lot of well-off white men of a certain age

They don't mind when their sons "date" a cute little "senorita", but they know that if he wants his trust fund, he'll end up with "Mitzi" from the country club...BUT they do NOT even want to think about their daughters dating or marrying "beneath" them and heavens-to-betsy...NEVER with a "darker" person..

It's xenophobia and the "dilution of the anglo blood" that has their panties in a wad.

Class-ism is all about this.. it's very similar to the monarchy in that way.. Marrying and living within one's own class is how they want this country running.. as long as the "lowers" are content to come here and work for peanuts, and do not produce liabilities (wives kids, etc), "they" are welcome..but human nature being what it is, these people want to share in the dream.. they want families, they want their kids educated..

This notion scares the upper-crusties who want it all for themselves..

greedy xenophobes are running the show..and always have been.

10. Speaking of xenophobes, this week especially I'm reminded that
all of us are being represented by John Bolton at the U.N.

Is that guy a nihilist, or what?

12. The only thing that cheers me a bit
is the knowledge that most people around the world who pay attention to the UN and to US politics are SMARTER than most americans...sad to say it

13. Many are, yes. I ran into a French duo in California. They were there
on a vacation. I helped them with a few directions around San Francisco.

I begged them to realize that Americans aren't ALL like George Bush. They laughed and said they knew that.

A lot of Europeans do not understand why Clinton was impeached for a sexual liaison with an intern but Bush is re-elected after Abu Ghraib.

And I can understand their confusion.

14. We spent some time with a British couple when we were in tahiti
This was Oct 03 (think recall)..They were amazed that Ahhhnold might be elected.. Reggie kept saying "Surely you Californians won't actually elect him"?

When we found out that he actually was being installed, we ran into them on their last night.. he just clucked his mouth and said.. "My my!"

16. Yep. Well, I hope the next time you run into those folks, Governor
Schwartzenegger will have been turned out of office.

The polls show a close race now, but I'm hopeful that Californians will turn out in large numbers and turn Arnold out.

And I won't miss him!

:hi: :dem:

17. I read a book about this once
and forget what is was called. But its premise was that white people have an instinctive genetic fear of their race evaporating, given that they are only ten percent of the population. I have no idea if that is correct or not.

Personally, living in FL I'd like a bit more pigment. I'm housebound in the summer. I should be on an iceberg somewhere, genetically.

15. So...
Latinos are now 'radical leftists'? People who want human beings to NOT be treated as felons are "radical"? PLEASE! Lou Dobbs is, IMO, a pocket reactionary, and this issue exposes that.

Well, "radicals" lambasted slavery; "radical leftists" fought against exploitation of workers (Haymarket Square, May 1st ring a bell?); "radical leftists" put kids in schools instead of factories; "radical leftists" ended political machines and corruption and the rule of robber barons. Do you think anyone should be ashamed of this title? I'm proud of it.
