Look what conservatives are resorting to....

This is a letter to the editor in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, my hometown newspaper. OK, so this guy isn't exactly a political genius by any means, but what he wrote made me laugh my ass off......

"DOUBLE STANDARD"

"THANK YOU, MISS LOSS, FOR SO CLEARLY POINTING OUT THE DOUBLE STANDARD THAT EXISTS REGARDING REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS BEHAVIORS. WHY IS IT THAT DEMOCRATS GET AWAY WITH THINGS THAT A REPUBLICAN COULD NEVER BE EXCUSED FOR?

"ANOTHER EXAMPLE I SAW OF THIS WAS IN A MALLARD FILLMORE CARTOON THE OTHER DAY. MALLARD ASKED FOR US TO IMAGINE HOW DIFFERENTLY THE CYNTHIA McKINNEY INCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN REPORTED IF A WHITE CONGRESSWOMAN HAD ASSAULTED A BLACK SECURITY OFFICER. IF THIS WAS THE CASE, MS. McKINNEY WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN BOOTED OUT OF CONGRESS. NOBODY CAN DENY THIS DOUBLE STANDARD."

I couldn't possibly make this crap up. The first time I read this, I laughed for about 5 straight minutes. This guy honestly got an idea from a Sunday morning comic strip, then had the great idea to write about it to the paper and OPENLY admit that he was reminded of this "double standard" by that Bush-loving (:sarcasm:) Mallard Fillmore. Amazing.

The letter goes on for another paragraph about how racism needs to be addressed not only when caucasians are being racists, but also when "persons of color" are being racist as well (writer sites Ray Nagin, among others).

Like I said, not exactly a political genius. Normally the letters to the editor are stupid but not worthy of posting. This, however, I found hilarious.

2. If Kay Baily Hutchinson smacked a black security guard

who the f*ck knows what would happen!? Probably nothing. Maybe the guard gets in trouble. Maybe the media covers it up. I seriously doubt Rush and the gang go after Kay. I seriously doubt anyone goes after Kay too hard. Although I'm sure if anyone said ANYTHING, that dumb bastard would say they were 'crucifying' her. That guy doesn't know sh*t.
